Facebook’s Internet.org app is now available for Tigo customers in Columbia. As announced yesterday by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and President Juan Manuel Santos at an event in Bogotá, Colombia, Tigo customers in Columbia will now be able to use basic and government web-services for free.

This move marks the first launch of the Internet.org app in Latin America, and gives access to a number of free services in sectors like education, health, communication, finance and a lot more. The list of free services provided by the Internet.org app includes; 1doc3, 24Symbols, AccuWeather, Agronet, BabyCenter & MAMA, Facebook, Girl Effect, Instituto Colombiano para la Evaluación de la Educacion, Messenger, Mitula, Para la Vida, Su Dinero, Tambero, UNICEF, Wikipedia and YoAprendo.

“Making the internet accessible through a set of basic services can lead to more people getting online and discovering services they might not have otherwise,” says Facebook. Plus, the company looks forward to elongate the list if free-services.
