Samsung Livestreamed The Birth Of A Child Using Gear VR

Today’s story is somewhat emotional and it’s from Samsung. The company has livestreamed the birth of a child in Virtual Reality, all courtesy to Samsung Gear VR.

Alison Larke was going to give birth to her third baby on Feb. 20, while her husband Jason was 4,000 miles away for work in Australia. And hopefully, Samsung invited Jason to be a part of an experiment, allowing him to watch the birth of his third child in Virtual Reality through its Gear VR headset, and as expected, he was able to experience the birth in real time.

“After we found out I was five weeks pregnant with our third child, we watched our baby grow, found out he was a boy and dreamed about what the future may hold,” Alison said. “Then at 30 weeks pregnant, Jace’s contract roster was confirmed and it was more than likely he would miss the birth of our baby, pending a miracle.”

The Virtual Reality actually killed the numbered distance of 4,000 miles instantly. I must say: Good work, Samsung! Have a look on the video below!

P.S. Congratulations! Alison and Jason.
