Samsung has officially announced its super thin smartphone to date – the Galaxy A8 – with a thickness of 5.9mm. The Galaxy A8 has a design principle similar to Galaxy S6 with an aluminium back. And is a China-only product as of now.
Apart from its super slim body, the Samsung Galaxy A8 fits a 5.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display. The A8 features 16-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras.
With a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM on board, the device offers either 16GB or 32GB of storage, which is expandable with a microSD card. The device also includes a fingerprint reader like the flagships.
Samsung claims that the 3,050mAh battery powering the Galaxy A8 can render up to 304 hours of standby. The Galaxy A8 comes in three different color variants – white, black and gold – with Android 5.1.1 flashed.
The device will be available soon in China, though the company has said no word on pricing, and its availability outside China.
