Samsung announces 18.4-inch Galaxy View tablet

Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy View, a giant 18.4-inch tablet – yes, a tablet – with a kickstand and handle in the back.
The Galaxy View houses a 1.6GHz octa-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. The rear end has no optical aperture, while the front-facing camera sets at 2.1-megapixel for video calling. On-board the tablet offers 32GB or 64GB of storage, with microSD card support for an additional 128GB.
“At Samsung, we are committed to creating new possibilities and bringing our consumers the best mobile experience,” said JK Shin, CEO and Head of Samsung’s IT & Mobile Business. “We are very excited to introduce the new Galaxy View, providing an entirely new way of consuming mobile video and entertainment.”
The power-plant included mounts to 5,700mAh, which the company touts to render 8 hours of video play. There’s also a nano-SIM slot for LTE connectivity.
Samsung hasn’t confirmed any details on the tablet’s pricing or availability yet.
