Xiaomi announces Ninebot mini, a self-balancing scooter

Xiaimi’s Hugo Barra today announced the company’s first two-wheel self-balancing scooter – the Ninebot mini.
The Ninebot mini, made in collaboration with Segway, can travel 22km on a single charge at speeds up to 16km/hr. The device is made up of super-strong magnesium alloy, and weighs just 12.8kg.
The battery-powered scooter is smart too, as it lets the rider connect via an app; the app acts as a speedometer. Xiaomi’s Ninebot mini is priced at 1,999 RMB ($314).
