Xiaomi announces the all-metal Redmi Note 3 with fingerprint sensor

Xiaomi today announced the Redmi Note 3 at an event in Beijing. As confirmed yesterday, the phone has a full-metal industrial design – the company’s first metal-wraped offering.
The 5.5-inch Redmi Note 3 houses a MediaTek Helio X10 processor coupled with 2GB RAM/16GB Flash (or 3GB RAM/32GB Flash), in addition to MIUI 7 on board. The Note 3 offers a 13-megapixel rear camera with phase detection auto-focus, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Redmi Note 3 packs a 4,000mAh battery unit that can charge 50-percent in just an hour. The 8.5mm thick phone also offers a fingerprint sensor on the back with 0.3-second unlock speed.
The handset will be available in gold, silver, and dark grey color filters in China initially. The Redmi Note 3 2GB RAM/16GB Flash will retail for 899 RMB ($140), while the 3GB RAM/32GB Flash variant will sell for 1099 RMB ($172).
