Oculus Rift costs $599, pre-orders are now open

The Oculus Rift finally has an official price point: $599. The Rift virtual reality headset will ship to 20 countries starting March 28, according Oculus’ blog post, and will be available at select retailers in April. Pre-orders are open now.

Yet importantly, the Oculus Rift requires a compatible gaming PC to work. You can check for your PC whether it is compatible with Rift or not using Oculus compatibility tool. In case you need a new Rift compatible PC, you can pre-order bundles that include an Oculus Ready PC and a Rift starting February for $1,499.
