Sony launches the Xperia E5, an affordable yet powerful handset

Sony has launched the Xperia E5, an affordable yet powerful phone in the mid-range category. The Xperia E5 comes with advanced performance and camera technology at an affordable price point. The 4G LTE, NFC-compatible phone features a 5-inch 720p display and comes equipped with MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM and 2,700mAh battery.
“Xperia E5 is a no-compromise approach to smartphone capability at this section of the market” said Tsutomu Sato, Director of Product Marketing, at Sony Mobile Communications. “It’s the perfect device for those seeking affordable access to the performance, camera technology and design more often associated with high-end mobile devices.”
The Xperia E5 weighs in at 147g with an 8.2mm thick body appearance. Camera offerings include a 13-megapixel primary shooter and 5-megapixel selfie-focused optics. Plus, the handset’s 16GB of internal storage can be expanded up to 200GB via microSD.
Available in Graphite Black and White, the Xperia E5 is supposed to arrive in Europe, Latin America and Middle East & Africa starting late June. Pricing information hasn’t been revealed yet.
