WhatsApp adds Snapchat-like feature called Status

WhatsApp has a new update that takes things back to its roots, allowing you to see what is happening with people in your contacts visually. It is a familiar feature, though with a distinguishable name called ‘Status,’ if you’ve spent hours using Snapchat and Instagram Stories in a while.

The new WhatsApp update lets you add text, emoji and drawings to your images or video, which can be viewed as a multimedia Status that expire in every 24 hours so people can stay up to date with your most recent activity. Familiar, right?

The update is available on iOS, Android and Windows Phone. Be sure to have the latest version of WhatsApp installed on your respective device, and find Status tab to make use of this new multimedia Status as well as to view your contacts’ updates.
