While the smart speaker market is already being crowded with Amazon Echo, Google Home, and the upcoming Apple HomePod, there’s a new player betting in this category. Samsung is working on its own smart speaker powered by Bixby voice assistant, confirmed Samsung Mobile’s president DJ Koh.
Speaking with CNBC at the Galaxy Note 8 event in New York City, Koh said:
Maybe soon we will announce it. I am already working on it. As I mentioned I wanted to provide a fruitful user experience at home with Samsung devices, and I want to be moving quite heavily on it.
Not much is known at the moment except the fact that Samsung plans to launch its Bixby-powered smart speaker “soon.” Stay tuned!
