Apple Chicago Event

Apple on Friday sent out invites to the media for an education-themed event on March 27. The event will be held at the Lane Tech College Prep High School in Chicago, Illinois.

“Creative new ideas for teachers and students,” promises the event invite, suggesting Apple has some education-related announcements planned for later this month. Following the history of Apple events held in the month of March (and also according to the rumors), new hardware as well as software announcements are likely to see the light of the day; perhaps a lower-priced iPad or MacBook targeted at classrooms.

On the software speculation, Apple could reveal more about iOS 11.3 with the new ClassKit framework for educational apps. Alongside these hardware and software possibilities, the Apple logo in the invite perhaps hint toward some Apple Pencil refinements as well (the invite is gorgeous!).

This is not the first time Apple is hosting such education-themed event. The company hosted a similar event in New York in 2012, and it was full of software surprises for the iPad.

Don’t feel surprised if you see ARKit demos for educational apps. They are even more exciting!
