HTC launches the pressure-sensitive U12 Plus, starting at $799
Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 coupled with 6GB of RAM and powered by a 3500mAh battery, as far as tech specs are concerned.

HTC has launched the U12 Plus, its first big phone of the year 2018. The U12 Plus is all that you can ask for in a flagship, from premium design to the latest in mobile innovation.
The 6-inch QHD+ U12 Plus sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 coupled with 6GB of RAM and powered by a 3500mAh battery. The handset is available in either 64GB or 128GB, with expandable storage via microSD. But what HTC is most proud of with its U12 Plus is the DxoMark score of 103 that shines the 12-megapixel wide-angle lens (f/1.75) and 16-megapixel telephoto lens (f/2.6) dual camera setup at the back. There’s also optical image stabilization (OIS) and portrait and manual modes for shooting.
HTC U12 Plus comes with Edge Sense 2, a new touch feedback experience which brings a new dimension in user interaction. The feature knows which hand you are using to use the phone, unlocking a myriad of ways to interact with the phone such as squeezing the sides for taking photos and videos, zooming in on maps. Simply hold to lock the screen orientation, the Edge Sense 2 knows. It is IP68 water and dust resistant and has BoomSound speakers, too.
The phone is a blend of art and technology as well. The U12 Plus sports an even more artistic design with an edge-to-edge display and new pressure-sensitive buttons encased in HTC’s liquid surface glass design and vibrant colors. Translucent Blue, Ceramic Black, and Flame Red. Pricing starts at $799 for the 64GB version and $849 for the 128GB version.
