Apple launches free screen replacement program for aluminum Apple Watch models
A crack may form along the rounded edge of the screen in aluminum models of Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3 “under very rare circumstances.”

Apple today announced a new screen replacement program for Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3 models due to screen cracking issues. The program covers all eligible aluminum models for a free screen replacement.
Apple says a crack may form along the rounded edge of the screen in aluminum models of Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3 “under very rare circumstances.” The crack may appear on one side and then continue around the screen, as shown in the image.

Customers who have experienced this kind of crack on their Apple Watch Series 2 or Series 3 can visit an Apple Store, visit an Apple Authorized Service Provider, or schedule a mail-in repair with Apple to get the screen replaced for free.
You can identify your Apple Watch and check for eligibility on Apple’s dedicated page for the screen replacement program. All Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3 models in aluminum are included in the program. Apple says the program covers eligible aluminum Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3 models for three years after the first retail sale of the unit or one year after the start date of the program, whichever is longer.
