Apple TV Plus earns 18 Emmy nominations
Not bad for a streaming service currently in its first year.

Launched last fall, Apple TV Plus has earned over a dozen Emmy nominations in its first year. There are 18 Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Apple TV Plus shows, including The Morning Show, Central Park, Defending Jacob, The Elephant Queen, and The Beastie Boys Story.
Steve Carell picked up an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor for his work in The Morning Show. Carell’s co-star, Jennifer Aniston got nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress, making it her first dramatic acting nomination away from comedy. Whereas, Billy Crudup and Mark Duplass both landed nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, and Martin Short for Outstanding Guest Actor.
Director Mimi Leder was nominated for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series. The drama was also nominated for Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Contemporary Program and Outstanding Main Title Design, making it 8 nominations in total for The Morning Show.
Leslie Odom Jr. earned a nod for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance for the animated comedy Central Park. Defending Jacob’s Olafur Arnalds and Jonathan Freeman for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music and Cinematography for a Limited Series or Movie, respectively. Home was nominated for Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special. The Elephant Queen’s Chiwetel Ejiofor nabbed the nomination for Outstanding Narrator.
The Beastie Boys Story took up nominees for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special, Outstanding Picture Editing for a Nonfiction Program, Outstanding Sound Editing for a Nonfiction or Reality Program, Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Nonfiction or Reality Program, Outstanding Writing for a Nonfiction Program.
Additionally, Apple also won Daytime Emmys for Ghostwriter and Peanuts in Space: Secrets of Apollo 10. You can know about the winners of the 72nd Annual Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 20 on ABC.
