Dark mode arrives for Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides on Android
Reduced eye strain, and a longer battery life.

Google has updated its popular office software with dark mode support. Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides are finally available with a dark theme on Android.
Dark mode has gained increasing attention lately. It changes the background color of an app window to a darker color scheme, and improves the readability of text when in a low-light environment. As a result, reduced eye strain, and a longer battery life especially on devices with OLED displays.
The feature adapts to Android system settings, however, you can also toggle the dark theme individually through the app. Inside the Docs, Sheets, or Slides app, head over to Menu > Settings > Theme and then choose the option that fits your need. If your Android device already has dark theme enabled, then you will not have to enable it manually as the apps will automatically use your system theme.
The dark theme rollout is an extended rollout, which means it will potentially take longer than 15 days to reach all users. Keep an eye on your Docs, Sheets, and Slides apps for the darker design.
