Google One will now back up your Android or iOS phone for free with your personal Google account. The iOS app will now be able to back up your images, movies, contacts and calendar occasions into one place through the free 15GB storage plan (expandable at $1.99 a month for 100GB). Whereas, the Android app, which already supports phone backups, will no longer require a Google One membership.

Google One is getting a new storage manager within its app and website, which will show how your space is being used and will suggest you ways to make space by deleting larger files, spam emails, and other inessential items.

Google One is the cloud storage service that was launched by Google (obviously) back in 2018. The phone backup feature was launched for Android users in September last year, but now Google is making that feature free and bringing it to iOS with a new storage manager. The new features will be visible on Android in the coming days, while the iOS app will be launching soon. Google One works in the countries where it’s available.
