Huawei unveils the new MateBook X 2020 in China

Huawei officially unveiled the new MateBook X 2020 laptop in China. The Huawei laptop has an ultra-slim chassis at 13.6mm thickness, and is slimmer than most thin and light-weight laptops.

The display is a 13-inch touchscreen panel with 3000 x 2000 resolution (3:2 aspect ratio) that can light up 400 nits of maximum brightness. It has a super slim bezel design around the screen with 90-percent screen-to-body ratio.

Powered by 10th-generation Intel Core i5/i7 processor, the MateBook X comes with either 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM combined with up to 512GB SSD storage and Intel UHD graphics. There’s a 42Wh battery unit with 65W charging support as well.

Huawei has included a Free Touch pressure-sensitive trackpad, which sounds like Apple’s Force Touch trackpad got a Windows counterpart from Huawei. The trackpad is capable of detecting various pressure levels for certain actions. It also houses a built-in fingerprint reader.

Available in four color options, the MateBook X comprises of four speakers, two USB Type-C ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, WiFI 6, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC support. The four colors include Frost Silver, Interstellar Blue, Green Mountain Daisy and Cherry Blossom Pink.

Pricing starts at 7999 RMB for the base model (Core i5/8GB/512GB) and goes up to 9999 RMB for the high-end variant (Core i7/16GB/512GB). The retail availability for Chinese market begins August 24, while there’s no information about international availability yet.
