Innersloth, an indie game company, announced that it will cancel the sequel of its popular “Among Us” game. The increasing popularity and large attention garnered by “Among Us” has led Innersloth to cancel its second season, Among Us 2.

The developers explained the reason behind the cancelation of Among Us 2 in a blog published on their website. Innersloth said that they want to focus more on the first season rather releasing a second season. This includes fixing server issues, adding a new stage and color-blind support.

Among Us 2 was actually announced about a month ago. Innersloth’s main idea for announcing Among Us 2 was to withstand the growth of the original game. The first season was released in 2018 and started gaining popularity in 2020 on Twitch live streaming platform. Now, Among Us has 70,000 to 110,000 players per hour.

Players don’t have to be sad at all because Innersloth has come up with a much better idea. Although Among Us 2 has been canceled, all the content planned for Among Us 2 will be available in the original Among Us 1. Gamers can buy Among Us for $4.99 on Steam, and iOS and Android uses can get the game for free on mobile (the ad-free version costs $1.99 though).
