Apple has hired former Disney and Quibi executive Tim Connolly for Apple TV, first spotted by The Telegraph. The news came out after Connolly’s LinkedIn profile was updated to reflect his new role at Apple.
Connolly’s responsibilities at Apple is still not known; his LinkedIn profiles doesn’t mention anything other than “Video Business” title at Apple. But from his past experience at Disney and Quibi, he must be working to bring out new content and bundling services.
Previously, Connolly served as a vice president of digital distribution and new product development at Disney. He helped in launching Hulu’s live TV service, making deals with other major networks. He was also a senior executive at Quibi, running partnerships and advertising.
Looking at Connolly’s background in digital content, he seems a valuable addition to Apple’s video business. Apple is reportedly working on subscription bundles that will offer multiple Apple subscription services at a lower price point. The subscription bundle is expected to be named “Apple One.”
