Apple increases repair cost to $699 for a broken 12.9-inch iPad Pro without AppleCare Plus
The additional charge might be due to the mini-LED display.

Apple on Friday updated its iPad Service and Repair document with repair costs for the new 2021 iPad Pro.
The repair service will cost $699 to repair a broken 12.9-inch iPad Pro with an M1 chip, which is $50 more expensive than the repair cost for the fourth-generation iPad Pro. The additional charge might be due to the mini-LED display.

All iPad Pro models come with Apple’s one-year standard manufacturer’s warranty that covers production flaws. When the damage isn’t covered by the standard warranty, users who don’t have an AppleCare Plus subscription will be charged a $699 repair fee. This charge will cover any damages that happen to the iPad Pro, including a broken display.
With AppleCare Plus, on the other hand, the repair will cost $49 and cover two accidental damages with repair available every 12 months. The repair might take up to 5-10 business days depending on the type of service.
Apple’s new 2021 iPad Pro models were announced on April 20 and will be available to customers in the second half of May.
