Apple today updated the Dark Sky weather app for iOS. It’s the second update to the popular weather app since Apple acquired it back in March 2020.

The Dark Sky update brings improvements to Dark Sky complications on the Apple Watch, and as a result, they update details more frequently. It’s also got improved VoiceOver support alongside bug fixes and improvements. Following are the release notes for Dark Sky version 6.8.6, have a look.

Dark Sky is a popular name among Android and iOS users when it comes to weather apps. Apple acquired Dark Sky back in March 2020 and shut down the app’s Android counterpart following the acquisition. Dark Sky has since been available on Apple devices and the web, which will continue to be available until the end of 2022.

Support for the Dark Sky API service for existing customers will continue until the end of 2022. The iOS app and Dark Sky website will also be available until the end of 2022.

Since Dark Sky’s acquisition, Apple has added a number of Dark Sky-like features to the native Weather app on iOS. Furthermore, the upcoming iOS 15 software update will bring a major change to the native Weather app.
