All four iPhone 13 models will get an EarPods in France. Due to the country’s law, all smartphones need to include a “hands-free kit” to protect children under 14 years of age from potential electromagnetic radiation.

At the request of the purchaser of a mobile phone, the operator must provide an accessory such as a hands-free kit or headset suitable for children under 14 years of age.

According to Apple’s French website, all iPhone 13 models come with EarPods and a Lightning connector. The iPhone 13 series arrive in two boxes where a standard iPhone 13 box is placed inside a larger box containing the EarPods, in France.

The iPhone 13 series don’t have EarPods in the box elsewhere. Customers who purchase an iPhone 13 elsewhere will get a Lightning to USB-C cable, the only accessory in the box.

Apple stopped shipping iPhones with EarPods and power bricks, claiming to help reduce carbon emission and avoid mining.
