Apple is rolling out a new firmware version for the AirPods 2, AirPods 3, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max. The new firmware version is 4C165.
Apple has not provided any information on what features or improvements the new firmware actually brings. However, it’s believed to have improved performance and stability.
To date, there has not been an option for users to update the firmware manually. It is updated over-the-air when the AirPods are connected to an iOS device.
You can check your AirPods firmware version by navigating to Settings > Bluetooth and then tapping the “i” button next to your AirPods name under “My Devices.” If the version number reads 4C165, then your AirPods firmware is up to date.
